• Celiac disease: contains oats. Avoid unless certified gluten-free oats are used; a minority of celiacs also react to oat protein (avenin).
• Vegans: contains honey.
• Strict Jain diet: contains honey.
• Strict ketogenic diet: ~44 g net carbs per 100 g (17 g per serve).
• Infants under 12 months: contains honey (infant botulism risk).
• Children under 5 years: whole/large nut pieces are a choking hazard (serve crushed or avoid).
• Crohn's disease with intestinal strictures, or after recent bowel surgery: whole nuts/seeds can cause blockage.
Consume less / with caution
• Chronic kidney disease (stage 3+): ~178 mg potassium & ~170 mg phosphorus per serve. Fit within renal diet allowance.
• Diabetes, prediabetes, PCOS, gestational diabetes: ~6 g sugars per serve (16 g/100 g) from honey (free sugar ~6 g/serve). Stick to one serve, ideally after a meal or with protein, and monitor glucose.
• Weight-loss / calorie-controlled diets: energy-dense (438 kcal/100 g; ~175 kcal per serve). Portion to one serve.
• IBS / bloating-prone people: honey (excess fructose) and cashew/pistachio (GOS) may trigger gas or loose stools; start with half a serve.
